Kikospace is located in Tkaronto (also known as Toronto), on Turtle Island. This is the traditional territory of the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Kikospace acknowledges that Turtle Island is home to a diverse community of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. Kikospace is committed to and honours our responsibility to the progress of decolonization.

As uninvited guests on stolen land, Kikospace acknowledges that we have benefited from the ongoing system of colonialism. Western colonial practices and institutions have continually demonstrated extremely harmful and damaging behaviour to Indigenous communities, dismantling and undermining their freedom and safety. Canada's actions towards our indigenous communities through programs such as the residential school system are acts of genocide. As we uncover the truth of our country's actions, we as settlers must sit with the responsibility of our actions, listen deeply to our Indigenous communities, and encourage them speak their truth.

Kikospace is committed to the vision of creating a future of radical compassion together. We work to create bridges of support, healing and allyship, to move towards a more connected future of equality, and to act with consideration, care and kindness to all.
